Beethoven Lives Upstairs

UPDATE: As of 3/16/20, the performances of Beethoven Lives Upstairs planned for May 2 and 3, 2020, have been cancelled due to the novel coronavirus.

This decision was made in keeping with the CDC's guidance regarding gatherings of 50 or more people, and with UNC Asheville’s restrictions (they have canceled public classes and any type of group meeting of more than 50 people).

By its very nature, our 60-person orchestra, every time it meets for rehearsals or performances, requires musicians to sit close to each other, much closer than the currently recommended distance of six feet. Add an audience to that picture during concerts, with hundreds of listeners sitting side-by-side, and you have exactly the sort of environment that must be avoided in present circumstances.

Ticket holders to these concerts will be contacted individually. We regret any inconvenience and gratefully appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support. We look forward to seeing you again in the fall.

This project was supported by the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural & Cultural Resources. www.NCArts.org.
